JCT beat Sporting Clube de Goa 2-0 in an I-League match, which was played in Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana this afternoon. Young Ajay Singh opened the scoring in the first half while the returning Baljit Singh Sahni bagged the second after the interval. JCT got off to a flying start as young striker Ajay Singh found the back of the net with a powerful left footed strike in the sixth minute. Sporting Clube de Goa was struggling to create chances in whole of the first half but they had to go for a break without any success to equalise the scoreline. At the start of second session, Baljit Sahni made his comeback in the I-League after few outings owing to motorbike accident in November 2009 and just twelve minutes after the restart of match he scored all-important second goal for JCT side with a fine finish from the eighteen-yard box. With this goal Baljit Sahni has raised his tally now to the highest Indian Scorer with seven goals. Thereafter, despite of the best efforts, Sporting Clube de Goa could not comeback into the game as JCT held on for three valuable points.
