Air India beats JCT 2-0 in I-League match

Air India beat JCT 2-0 in I-League round 13 match, which was played this afternoon in Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana. JCT got first chance of scoring in the 2nd minute of the game through the set piece of Strikers Balwant Singh and Ajay Singh, but Balwant could not finally avail off the opportunity. Just three minutes later, Air India's striker was fouled by JCT defender Lalchhuanmawia outside the box resulting which, match Referee awarded free kick to Air India. Ravinder Singh a dead-ball specialist from Air India took the free kick and scored a brilliant goal to give his side a valuable lead. Thereafter JCT tried to find equalizer on the moves created by Penn Orji and Jaswinder Singh, but poor finishing upfront let them down. Just four minutes before the lemon break N.D.Opara of Air India doubled the lead by scoring a goal for his side. After lemon break, JCT entered the field with great zeal and showed some aggression in their attacks, but alert defense of Air India did not give them enough space to take frequent shots on the targets. Despite of all out efforts from Penn Orji, Baljit Sahni, Jaswinder Singh, Balwant etc. in the dying minutes of the game, JCT could not even reduce the margin.
